Measure right and get happy customers!

If you use measuring equipment in your work, you probably know how important it is that they read correctly and that you and your customers can trust what the test equipment, for example, shows.
When you calibrate a piece of test equipment, you get black and white evidence of how accurate the equipment really is. Calibration is about quality assurance and credibility. In technical contexts, decisions are almost always based on test results in one form or another. Correct decisions therefore require reliable test results. Decisions made on the wrong basis can, for example, lead to incorrect designs. Without correct measurements (traceable calibrations with presented measurement uncertainty), the company risks lower quality, lower competitiveness and ultimately poor profitability.

If you want suitable and reliable test equipment, you get it by regularly calibrating it with the help of our accredited activities (SS EN ISO/IEC 17025). ZRS Testing Systems AB can offer traceability and present measurement uncertainty.

All measurements made are associated with some measurement errors. These factors may be due to:

• the measurement accuracy of the sensors used
• choice of measurement area
• reading errors
• stability of the environment such as temperature variations, vibrations and dirt
• the design and smoothness of the test rod
• the speed of the tensile test

Calibrate regularly to avoid problems!

If you want to achieve the right quality in your measurements, one step in the quality chain is to regularly calibrate your measuring instruments and thus have control over its impact on the measurement. It is recommended in the ISO 7500 standard for force calibration and in ISO 9513 for strain calibration that calibration should be done within a 12-month interval. Many sources of error can be eliminated by using the correct measurement methods and the right type of instruments and sensors. You also need to know the measurement error of the instrument otherwise it can actually end up contributing to quality deficiencies in the products or services to be delivered.

ZRS Testing Systems AB is an accredited calibration laboratory according to the ISO 17025 standard. This means that we have written routines that describe how the calibration work should be performed and how our customers should be treated. This ensures that we do things the same way every time. That our procedures work and that the work is carried out correctly according to the given standards is regularly reviewed by SWEDAC. This means that inspectors from SWEDAC visit us regularly and accompany and review us during calibrations at the customer.

SWEDAC's review is an important part of your assurance that we are doing the right thing. There are also other important parts to look at, for example that the equipment we use when we calibrate your machine is very accurate and of the highest quality. The equipment is traceably calibrated to international references and we use special adapters that ensure the best linearity and thus the highest measurement accuracy. ZRS calibration technicians receive continuous training in performing calibrations and servicing. They also regularly participate in comparative calibrations to ensure competence. The earlier you detect errors in your production, the cheaper it can be to correct them. Already in the manufacturing phase, you should know if the product is of the right quality.
