Star Hydraulics' now renowned Sapphire Technology™ has been proven to reduce 'ball glitch' - the term for the effect on valve performance due to ball wear. This expertise at Star Hydraulics has allowed it to study the recurring failures of traditional valves and the wear of one particular component, a small steel ball, which was found to be the main cause of failure. Star Hydraulics found that by replacing the steel ball with a Sapphire ball, it greatly extended the life of the servo valve.
