Sheet metal forming test - accurate characterization of formability and process window
ZwickRoell's BUP series sheet metal forming machines, available through ZRS Testing Systems, are used to determine characteristic values for the formability of sheet materials - a crucial basis for both alloy development and optimization of press processes in manufacturing.
The machines are available in five capacity levels (100 kN - 1,000 kN) and allow deep drawing, bending and punching in a single test sequence (from model BUP 200 upwards). Test parameters such as deep drawing speed and plate clamping force can be individually adjusted, providing a highly flexible tool for both development and verification.
In ZwickRoell's BUP, the following different tests can be performed as standard:
Examples of applications:
Formability mapping of new alloys and sheet grades
Development of metalworking methods, such as deep drawing or hydroforming
Quality assurance in series production, with reproducible, standardized test results
With the optional testXpert III software, the entire test process can be digitally controlled and evaluated, including graphical analysis and traceable documentation - customized to your quality requirements.
ZRS helps you every step of the way - from needs analysis and equipment selection to installation, training and calibration. Whether you're working in development, prototyping, or process monitoring, the machines are optimized to provide reliable and comparable results.
